Burnley v Southampton, Betting Preview & Prediction

BURNLEY v SOUTHAMPTON – Click here to bet

Burnley have only played 1 match and it ended in defeat 4-2 away to Leicester last week.  They face a Southampton side that has lost both its opening fixtures 5-2 at home to Tottenham and 1-0 on the road to Crystal Palace.

Burnley did the double over Southampton last season winning this fixture 3-0.

Burnley 22/10

Draw 23/10

Southampton 27/20

Suggested Bet:  Burnley win at 22/10

I am not sure what has gone wrong with Southampton, but they haven’t looked anything like the side that finished last season and Burnley can capitalise and take 3 points at home.

West Brom v Chelsea, Betting Preview & Prediction

WEST BROM v CHELSEA – Click here to bet

West Brom have found the early going in the EPL tough with back-to-back defeats to open their campaign, last week losing 5-2 away at Everton and having lost 3-0 at home to Leicester the week before.

They face a Chelsea side that opened with a 3-1 away win over Brighton, but went down 2-0 at home to Liverpool last week.

West Brom 7/1

Draw 4/1

Chelsea 4/10

Suggested Bet:  Handicap, Chelsea (-1) at 1/1

West Brom have lost both their opening matches by 3 goals.  Although Chelsea are coming off a defeat it was against the Champions and I am expecting them to have a big season.

Manchester United are coming off a disappointing 3-1 FA Cup semi-final loss to Chelsea, but their League form has been excellent and sitting in 5th place they are very much in the hunt for a Top 4 or even a Top 3 finish.  They have played 7 matches since returning from the COVID-19 break, dropping just 4 points in that time with 5 wins and 2 draws.  Their last home game was a 2-2 draw to Southampton, prior to that they beat Bournemouth by 3 and Sheffield United by 3 goals.

West Ham are coming off back-to-back victories over Norwich away and Watford at home and that has ensured their EPL survival.  They have won 4 out of 18 away matches this season.

Looking at the head-to-head clashes between the sides West Ham beat United 2-0 at home earlier in the season, but last time the sides met at Old Trafford it was United who came out victors 2-1.

Manchester United 1/4

Draw 11/2

West Ham 10/1

Suggested Bet:  Handicap, Manchester United (-2) at 31/20

For this bet to arrive I need Manchester United to win by 3 goals or more and while it might seem a big order they have won 2 of their last 3 home games by those margins and they face a West Ham side that will consider its job to be done and may well step off the gas.

Palace have been on a woeful run and have lost their last 5 matches in a row including home games against Burnley and Chelsea.  Last time out they went down 2-0 away to Aston Villa.

Manchester United were absolutely flying and they won 4 matches in succession before a disappointing 2-2 home draw to Southampton on Monday night.  They sit 5th on the table and are still very much in the race for that Top 4 finish.

Palace beat United 2-1 at Old Trafford earlier in the season and last season Manchester United won this fixture 3-1 and they have beaten Crystal Palace 3 times in a row away from home.

Crystal Palace 9/1

Draw 17/4

Manchester United 7/20

Suggested Bet:  Handicap, Manchester United (-1) at 19/20

United would have been disappointed to draw to Southampton, but Southampton did have an excellent away record and I wouldn’t read too much into that one. Prior to that draw United were in cracking form and I think they can continue against a Crystal Palace side who seems to have virtually packed up for the season.

EVERTON v ASTON VILLA – Click Here to bet

Everton are 11th on the table, but have only taken 1 point from the last 9 they have played for.  They lost 3-0 away to Wolves on the weekend and their last home game was a 1-1 draw to Southampton.

Aston Villa are 19th on the table, but gave themselves hope of avoiding relegation when they beat Crystal Palace 2-0 at home.  That victory halted a 10 match streak without a win.  They have only won twice on the road all season.

Villa beat Everton 2-0 at home back in August.

Everton 21/20

Draw 51/20

Aston Villa 53/20

Suggested Bet:  Over 2.5 goals at 8/10

Villa certainly have more to play for of the 2 sides and I expect them to push forward aggressively as they search for 3 points, this could leave them exposed at the back and I think we will see goals at both ends and hopefully 3 or more in the match.
