Man City v Marseille, Betting Preview & Prediction

City are 3 points clear of Porto in Group C, but with a comfortably better goal difference looks certain to secure top spot.  Marseille are still in the hunt for a Top 3 finish, currently level on points with Olympiacos although slightly behind on goal difference.

City’s 2 home games have seen them beat Olympiacos 3-0 and Porto 3-1 and Marseille have lost both games on the road 3-0 to Porto and 1-0 to Olympiacos, but they did get their first win of the campaign 2-1 against Olympiacos at home last time out.

Manchester City 9/20

Draw 77/20

Marseille 6/1

Suggested Bet:  Handicap, Marseilles (+1) at 18/10

I am taking a view this week that the English Premier League sides who have nothing to play for will be far from their best and I think that Marseilles are going to go better than many expect.

Real Madrid v Monchengladbach, Betting Preview & Prediction

Group B is very well poised with Monchengladbach leading on 8 points ahead of Shakhtar Donetsk and Real Madrid on 7, Inter are not totally out of it on 5 points and should Real Madrid lose they could go through with a win over Shakhtar Donetsk.

Real Madrid’s 2 home games have seen them beat Inter 3-2 and lose 3-2 to Shakhtar Donetsk.  Monchengladbach’s away matches were a 6-0 win over Shakhtar and a 2-2 draw with Inter.

These sides met at Monchengladbach earlier this season in the Tournament and the score finished 2-2.

Real Madrid 15/20

Draw 61/20

Borussia Monchengladbach 7/2

Suggested Bet:  Over 3.5 goals at 5/4

This game should be an exciting one with end-to-end action and there has been 4 goals or more in all 5 of Monchengladbach’s Group Stage matches and in 3 of Real Madrid’s 5 games.

Midtjylland v Liverpool, Betting Preview & Prediction

Midtjylland are without a win in their 5 games getting just 1 point and they are guaranteed to finish bottom of Group D.  Liverpool on the other hand have had 4 wins and a loss in their 5 games and are certain to finish top.

Midtjylland’s 2 home games have seen them lose 2-1 to Ajax and 4-0 to Atalanta although in the qualification stages they had convincing victories over Slavia Prague and Young Boys both by 3-0 margins.

Liverpool have yet to concede on the road in their 2 Champions League matches beating Atalanta 5-0 and Ajax 1-0 and they were rampant in the League on the weekend beating Wolves 4-0 at home.

Midtjylland 12/5

Draw 28/10

Liverpool 21/20

Suggested Bet:  The draw at 28/10

The first thing that might surprise you about this bet is that the fact that the draw is as short as 28/10.  This is due to the fact that Liverpool have nothing to play for and will no doubt rest key players for the match.  This may allow Midtjylland in to grab a point.

Other markets of interest to me would be under 2.5 goals at 12/10.

Leipzig v Man United, Betting Preview & Prediction

Group H is very well poised heading into the last round with 3 teams on 9 points including Leipzig and United.  PSG separate the two on the table on goal difference with United top and Leipzig 3rd and with PSG playing bottom of the log, Basaksehir, Leipzig will know they have to win this game to progress.  They have 100% home record to date beating PSG 2-1 and Basaksehir 2-0, while on the road, United lost to Basaksehir 2-1 and beat PSG 2-1.

When these sides met at Old Trafford, United ran riot winning 5-0 back in October.

RB Leipzig 16/10

Draw 11/4

Manchester United 31/20

Suggested Bet:  RB Leipzig win at 16/10

Leipzig showed with a 3-3 draw away to Bayern Munich in the League on the weekend that they are in cracking form and their home record is excellent in this Tournament.  United have won 5 of their last 6 games in all competitions, but I get the feeling they are starting to take some strain and that European heartbreak awaits.

Barcelona v Juventus, Betting Preview & Prediction

BARCELONA v JUVENTUS – Click here to bet

Barcelona and Juventus have dominated Group G and Barcelona have 15 points from 5 wins in 5 games, 3 points ahead of Juventus whose only loss was to Barcelona.

Barcelona’s 2 home games this season have beaten Dynamo Kiev 2-1 and Ferencvarosi 5-1 and Juventus’s 2 away games have been a 4-1 win over Ferencvarosi and a 2-0 win over Dynamo Kiev.

This past weekend Juventus beat Torino 2-1 at home in the League and Barcelona suffered a defeat 2-1 away to Cadiz.

Barcelona 23/20

Draw 53/20

Juventus 47/20

Suggested Bet:  The draw at 53/20

With the Top 2 spots in the table basically confirmed I am not sure either of these teams will be going 100% into this one and it would not surprise me to see both teams end up with a point.  On the goals front there may be some value at under 2.5 goals at 23/20 and this is based purely on the fact that neither side has that much to play for and this could turn into a scrappy encounter.
